What is Coaching vs Counselling vs Psychotherapy?

Coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process that focuses on helping individuals clarify their goals, develop strategies, and take action to achieve success in various areas of life. Coaches typically work with clients to identify their strengths, values, and aspirations while providing guidance, support, and accountability.

Counseling is a therapeutic process that helps individuals explore and resolve specific emotional, psychological, and relational issues that impact their well-being and quality of life. Counselors help clients gain insights into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, enabling them to develop coping strategies, improve decision-making skills, process trauma, and enhance their overall mental health. 

Psychotherapy is a form of therapy that delves deeper into the underlying causes of psychological issues, emotional distress, and behavioral patterns. Psychotherapists work with clients to explore and understand the deeper (sometimes called “unconscious”) motivations, unresolved conflicts, and past experiences that contribute to their current difficulties.

How do I get started?

Getting started at Empowered Transformations is convenient and easy. Simply visit our services section and click Introductory Call. You can select a FREE initial 30-minute consultation to meet and talk with me, and I can help you decide if coaching is the right option for you.

What happens during the initial appointment?

During the initial appointment, we use the results of your Coaching Intake to develop your goals together. These will act as your blueprint throughout coaching.

What do I need for online coaching?

  • Video Conferencing Equipment: Please ensure you have a laptop or PC + webcam for your Zoom meetings. If you do have to use your phone for a session, please ensure it is mounted at head height and is connected to a stable WiFi connection.

  • Privacy: Please ensure you have a quiet, private location with minimal distractions to conduct your Zoom session.

How do rescheduling and cancellations work?

  • Appointments can be canceled or rescheduled by emailing us at zainbari@empoweredtransformation.org

  • Rescheduling is allowed 48 hours before an appointment. You may reschedule by emailing us at zainbari@empoweredtransformation.org

  • Reviewing your notes before the appointment takes time. To respect your coach’s time, there is a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. If the cancellation is requested within 48 hours of the appointment, refunds will not be made.

  • You may still email zainbari@empoweredtransformation.org to request a make-up session. However, your new time will most likely be available at your following appointment date.

Late and No-Show policy:

  • If you are late: your coach will wait for you for 15 minutes. If you do not arrive by this time, your coach will mark your appointment as a no-show. Coaching sessions require time for a recap, discussion, and investigation, followed up by collaborative problem-solving to establish a detailed and personalized plan. If you are more than 15 minutes late to a 1 hour session, we will be unable to accomplish these goals in the time remaining.

  • If you miss your appointment: There are no refunds for no-shows. We will send ample reminders to your email or phone number to make sure there is a system of notifications to help you.

Accepted Payment Methods:

Credit cards are accepted through the secure online payment system. Currently, we do not accept insurance for appointments.
